Maedeh  Rahimi

Strengths

* Good listening skills

* Gave a detailed introduction

* Was able to use a range of structures like second conditional e.g. if it’s really big, we should go out of the house

* Spoke clearly and with excellent intonation and stress

* Use suitable and current example to support her answer like Salt the film

Areas to work on

* Work a little more on grammar, in particular third conditional as did not use the past perfect clause

* Made a couple of errors with prepositions like ‘use people for being better’ instead of ‘to be better’

* Would benefit from using idiomatical language to further develop her English speaking skills

 

Abbas  Mehdi Zadeh

Strengths

* Gave a well detailed introduction and answers

* Used examples in her answers throughout

* Great vocabulary, especially for food and clothing

* Used correct verb patterns e.g. I try to eat…

* Was able to use some modal verbs accurately like ‘have to’

Areas to work on

* Would benefit from using sequencers when talking about her morning routine

* Got confused with modals of obligation as said ‘they don’t have to wear tank tops and short skirts’ but needed to use ‘mustn’t’ instead

* Used the present simple verb a couple of times when the past simple was needed e.g. ‘I grow up in Shiraz’

 

Ashraf  Ghasemzadeh

Strengths

* Could speak easily in the present simple tense

* Used complete sentences

* Good comprehension of questions

* Used conjunctions in her answers and time expressions

* Spoke at a steady pace

Areas to work on

* Work on her vocabulary further as this would have allowed for more development in her answers

* Missed out a couple of main verbs in her sentences e.g. ‘I don’t free time’

* Although she used frequency adverbs, she kept saying ‘usual’ instead of ‘usually’ such as ‘I usual go to exercise’

 

Hamidreza  Baghay

Strengths

* Gave a detailed introduction

* Used suitable vocabulary for each question e.g. ‘co-workers’

* Used superlative adjectives well

* Could use the present and past simple well

Areas to work on

* Mixed up  a couple of verb tenses as used the past simple instead of the present to talk about routine

* Missed out definite articles in a few sentences

* Misunderstood his question on what kind of vacation he preferred as he spoke about his last one instead so should be careful with his listening

 

Mitra Zarei

Strengths

* Used a range of appropriate vocabulary throughout

* Correct verb patterns like ‘I try to avoid..’

* Was able to form simple present sentences

* Used frequency adverbs correctly

* Good listening skill as understood her questions

Areas to work on

* Needed to give more examples to expand her answers like saying which type of food is fatty

* Would benefit from using sequencers

* Used the present continuous tense a couple of times when the present simple was needed

 

Gholamreza Ahani

Strengths

* Gave a detailed introduction

* Was able to use adverbs of frequency accurately

* Used  a range of key lexis like ‘stay in shape’

* Spoke clearly and used the present simple tense well

Areas to work on

* Work on modal verbs more as followed ‘can’ with –ing as he said ‘I can swimming’

* Needed to use sequencers when referring to his typical morning

* A couple of pronunciation errors like ‘terrible’

 

Ferdos Torabi

Strengths

* Used sequencers correctly

* Could give extra information by using time expressions to expand her sentences

* Was able to use a range of modal verbs accurately like ‘people should wear modest clothes’

* Had an array of vocabulary to fit each question

Areas to work on

* Used the definite article with general nouns e.g. ‘the women’

* Work on her comprehension slightly as she misunderstood a question about what she does to stay fit by answering how other people do this instead

* A couple of prepositional mistakes

 

Alireza Nikoie

Strengths

* Spoke using full sentences

* Supported his answers with fitting examples

* Spoke clearly

* Used adverbs of frequency correctly

Areas to work on

* Although he spoke in full sentences, he could have developed more of his answers as some fell a little short

* Missed out indefinite and definite articles in a few of his responses

* Formed a few present simple sentences using the verb to be as well as a main verb e.g. ‘they’re go to gym’

 

Rasoul Rafie

Strengths

* Used a range of time expressions

* Gave descriptive answers throughout

* Spoke at a good pace

* Demonstrated good listening skills as didn’t struggle with questions when asked

Areas to work on

* Needed to use sequencers to talk about routine

* Missed out the verb to be when forming passive sentences e.g. ‘maybe the flight cancelled

* Made one or two prepositional mistakes

 

Mehran Salehi

Strengths

* Used a wide range of vocabulary like ‘coach potato’

* Had excellent listening and comprehension skills as could answer with ease

* Was able to speak in both the present and past simple tense

* Gave extremely detailed responses continuously

Areas to work on

* Made a couple of mistakes with word choice as said ‘I had car sick’ rather than ‘I was car sick’ or ‘I had car sickness’

* Would benefit from using more phrasal verbs and complex structures to improve his English speaking

 

Mojtaba Zandi        

Strengths

* Used certain modal verbs well like ‘should wear pants’

* Could form simple present sentences easily

* Gave a detailed introduction

* Had good listening skills

Areas to work on

* Need to work on expanding answers more as they were often very limited to only one sentence responses

* Demonstrated poor comprehension as towards the end of the interview he was not able to answer any of his questions and simply said ‘I don’t know’

* Needed to use more adverbs of frequency and sequencers to develop some sentences

 

Firozeh Moradi       

Strengths

* Good use of adjectives

* Gave a detailed introduction

* Was able to form present simple sentences using adverbs of frequency and time expressions well

* Attempted to use a range of modal verbs like ‘you shouldn’t show your body in the street’

Areas to work on

* Missed out the ‘s’ on plural nouns

* Wold benefit from expanding her answers more as when asked about her routine she missed out what time she gets up or what she has for breakfast

* Had to rephrase certain questions so could work on her comprehension further too

* Missed out the verb to be before adjectives

Mohsen Soleymani

Strengths

* Used a range of conjunctions well

* Could speak easily using the present simple tense

* Demonstrated good listening skills as did not need to have questions repeated

* Could form sentences using adverbs of frequency

Areas to work on

* Ought to work on ways of expanding his responses like improving his vocabulary knowledge as many sentences were quite short and less developed as they could have been

* Was unsure of casual clothes so had slightly weaker comprehension skills

* Missed out certain ‘to’ and the verb to be in some answers like ‘they want good looking’
