Interview feedback  level 4 group 73

NeginTasob

Negin gave a detailed introduction and used a range of adjectives in different forms such as superlatives. She was able to speak in the present and past simple tense accurately and used a range of grammatical structures well like modal verbs. She made several mistakes with definite articles and prepositions as she said, ‘in the work’. Also, she could have benefited from using sequencers to structure her description of a typical day.

Mohammad JavadHaseli

Mohammad was able to speak in simple present sentences and used a range of adjectives well like ‘tired’. Also, he used several time expressions and frequency adverbs. Having said this, he needs to work much more on his listening and comprehension as he struggled to give appropriate answers due to him either not fully understanding the question or mishearing it. For example, when asked about why people exercised, he replied by talking about his own exercise. Also, he needs to work on developing his answers as they lacked any depth and generally only consisted of one sentence.

Maryam Abed

Maryam spoke at a natural pace and with good pronunciation. She was able to use a frequency adverbs well and used a wide range of vocabulary in each of her replies like ‘I’m crazy about…’. Also, she demonstrated very good listening skills and was confident speaking in the present and past simple tense. She made a couple of mistakes with the definite article as she missed it out in some of her sentences, also she would benefit from using conditional structures.

Abbas Piraste

Abbas used a range of appropriate adjectives like ‘scary and bumpy’ and used time expressions well. He was able to use the present simple tense well and generally had good listening skills. Having said this, he did misunderstand his question on work clothes because he answered by talking about what clothes he wears, not specifically work ones. Furthermore, he should work on his intonation as he stressed some words incorrectly like ‘because’.

Samira Shiri

Samira was able to speak in present simple sentences relatively well and used frequency adverbs in them whenever possible. She was able to use sequencers and used correct verb forms. However, she needs to work on her grammar further as she would use ‘to’ after verbs where it was not needed and would benefit from expanding more of her answers as many of them fell too short.

Akbar Jafarpoor

Akbar gave a good introduction and used appropriate adjectives to give more description in his sentences. He could use sequencers and a couple of adverbs when speaking in the present simple tense. Having said this, he missed out several words such as auxiliary verbs and prepositions which resulted in quite broken down English at times. Furthermore, he needs to work on his listening further as he misunderstood several questions like when asked about why other people exercise, he spoke about what kind he does. Finally, he needs to develop his answer more to give more detail.

YasinVahedi

Yasin gave a very detailed introduction and used a wide range of suitable vocabulary including superlatives. Furthermore, he used a range of adverbs and could confidently speak in the present simple tense. Having said this, he did not use sequencers to talk about his typical morning. Also, even though he gave a very in-depth introduction, some of his answers lacked development. For example, he could have given more information on possible problems by given specific examples of accidents which could happen.

Ali Mohammadi

Ali gave an in-depth introduction and this continued with full answers throughout. He used a range of opinionative expressions like ‘I think’ and ‘to be honest’ and demonstrated good listening skills. Also, he was able to speak fully using the present simple tense along with appropriate frequency adverbs and adjectives. He should work on third person verb forms as he said, ‘my flight have mechanical problems’; and try to use a range of sequencers as he tended to just use ‘after’.

PeymanMokaram

Peyman         had very good listening skills and used appropriate frequency verbs in her sentences. She spoke at a steady pace and was competent using the present simple tense. Having said this, she needs to work on her prepositions because she made several mistakes such as ‘in my vacation’ and she should work on her ‘I’ sounds as she pronounced ‘ship’ as ‘sheep’. Finally, she would benefit from using more examples and sequencers in her answers.

Sara Bahmani

Sara could speak confidently in both the present and past simple tense. She used a range of sequencers and adverbs appropriately and used a wide range of vocabulary like ‘couch potato’. Also she spoke with a good pace and could easily comprehend her questions. Sara would benefit from using examples in her answers to give additional information and she used the indefinite article incorrectly a couple of times and an inappropriate verb, for example, ‘have a relax there’.

Elham HedariFard

Elham demonstrated very good listening skills and was able to speak in the present simple tense well. She used a couple of sequencers which was nice to see and spoke clearly. She should work on expanding her answers as she lacked depth and detail with some only being one sentence long. Furthermore, she used the definite article incorrectly repeatedly as she said, ‘the exercise can help the people be happy’. Also, she would benefit from speaking a little quicker.

Satar Soltani

Satar could speak in simple present sentences and used frequency adverbs correctly. He was able to comprehend all of his questions and had good listening skills. However, he needs to work on expanding his answers on his own as he had to be asked why on several occasions to gain extra information. Also, he made some pronunciation errors like ‘plane’ and needs to use more modal verbs to demonstrate a deeper understanding of English.

Mohammad BagherMortazavi

Mohammad gave a detailed introduction and could speak using the present simple tense well. He used sequencers and frequency adverbs in his sentences and could develop some of his answers by using appropriate examples and vocabulary. He needs to work on his pronunciation more and used incorrect prepositions on a few occasions like ‘and for in shape’ instead of ‘to be in shape’.
