Interview feedback  level 4 group 71

Pouriya Salehi

Pouriya’s listening on the whole was to a good standard. He could use some appropriate vocabulary like ‘stay in shape’ and used correct structures with modal verbs. He used a couple of opening expressions which was nice to see, but needs to develop his answers much more as they were only one sentence long most times. He missed out prepositions and made a couple of word order mistakes such as ‘food junk’.

Zahra Bazyar

Zahra could use examples to expand her answers and used adverbs of frequency accurately. She used some very good expressions like ‘I’m a big fan of junk food’ and demonstrated good listening skills. She made some errors with articles or missed them out of her sentences, for example ‘I’d like to go to jungle’. Also, she should use sequencers when referring to her daily routine and be careful with verb tenses because she used a past one when present was needed like ‘maybe I got seasick’.

Naeemeh Zare

Naeemeh gave a detailed introduction and this continued throughout as her answers were fully developed every time. She had very good pronunciation and used a wide range of vocabulary. Also, her comprehension and listening skills were of a high standard. She should work on her grammar a little further because she made a couple of mistakes here such as missing out main verbs or using an ‘s’ at the end of uncountable verbs. For example, she said ‘I should casual clothes’.

Shima Dashti

Shima could use a range of grammatical structures competently like zero conditionals. She spoke at a natural pace and could support her ideas with examples. Also, she was able to form the present simple tense easily and used a range of adverbs of frequency. She made several errors with prepositions like ‘I lie on the sun’ or ‘swim on the sea’. Also, she missed out ‘to’ after certain verbs and used an indefinite article when it was not needed.

Zeynab Hemati

Zeynab was able to understand most of her questions after they had been rephrased or repeated once or twice. She was able to use simple grammar structures and used a range of time expressions and prepositions accurately such as ‘at six o’clock in the morning’. Having said this, she needs to work much more on her vocabulary because most of her answers were very limited and she was not able to expand on them due to her lack of appropriate lexis. Also, she used the present continuous tense on several occasions instead of present simple like ‘I going to English class every day’.

Elaheh Abbbasi

Elaheh gave a detailed introduction and used a range of suitable adverbs of frequency. She used modal verbs and verb patterns correctly like ‘I try to see’ or ‘I have to wear’. Also, she demonstrated good holiday vocabulary. Although she could use adverbs, sometimes they were misplaced such as ‘I always must sleep more than six hours’ and she should try to use sequencers to stage her reply on daily routine. Finally, she would benefit from using more examples when talking about healthy habits.

Ensiyeh Namdari

Ensiyeh could speak in the present simple and use appropriate time expressions, for example, ‘I do exercises twice a week’. Also, she had good listening skills as she could understand her questions easily and used a wide range of vocabulary. She should be careful with her word forms as sometimes she would use an incorrect one like ‘I like pleasure vacation’ and used the wrong verb in some of her sentences. Also, she should try to speak a little quicker.

Mohammad Vaseghi

Mohammad gave a very detail introduction and this continued with in-depth replies. He used an array of adjectives like ‘terrific’ and overall his vocabulary was to a very high standard. Also, he could competently speak in the present simple tense, used modals correctly and comprehend his questions with ease. He made one or two errors with certain words like ‘especial for women’ and misplaced his adverbs a couple of times such as ‘we have always a train accident’.

Neda Esmaeeli

Neda had a very good accent and used prepositions properly. She had very good listening and comprehension skills and showed that her vocabulary knowledge was of a very good standard as her answers perfectly fitted her questions. She should try to expand her answers independently as she had to be asked ‘why’ on one or two occasions to gain extra information and she used the wrong word form like ‘they want to be health’.

Sida Pile Ram

Sida was able to use some verb pattern structures correctly like ‘I like to go shopping’ and spoke at a steady pace. She used a range of time expressions and could comprehend most of her questions, but had to have them repeated a couple of times so more work on her listening is needed. Also, she could put across some good ideas with appropriate vocabulary, but rarely used full sentences so she should try to use connectors more to link them together to form full sentences.

Salar Hazrati

Salar was able to speak in simple sentences and had good pronunciation. He spoke at a steady pace and used a range of adverbs and time expressions accurately. He should focus on his listening further because he misheard a couple of questions and this resulted in an inaccurate response. For example, when he was asked about what kind of clothes he wore for work, he thought I asked him what time he started work. In addition, he should work on developing his answers and expanding his sentences as he could name information, but not link those ideas together using conjunctions.

Esmaeel Noori

Esmaeel used some good examples to support his answers and had good listening skills. He could speak in the present simple tense confidently and used full sentences. Having said this, he needs to expand his answers further such as saying why he likes to go bike riding or swimming on vacation. Also, he made a couple of mistakes with word form like ‘they want a beauty body’ and pronounced words with a ‘v’ in them as ‘w’.

Touraj Mohmoodi

Touraj was able to give a lot of detail in his replies and used a wide range of vocabulary for each of his questions like ‘crazy about’. He used adverbs and sequencers accurately and used correct verb patterns throughout. Also, he used a range of modal verbs to talk about possible vacation problems and could even give advice on what to do in those situations, which was excellent to see as it highlighted how he could further develop his answers. He made a couple of mistakes with singular and plural forms like ‘someone have weight’ and used the indefinite article when one was not needed.

MohammadAmin Mohammadi

Mohammadwas able to give reason for his views and used a range of suitable lexis. He could speak in the present simple tense well when talking about his routine and was able to mostly comprehend his questions easily. Having said this, he did misunderstand one of his questions on where he usually stays on vacation because he answered by referring to where he lived. Also, he made several mistakes with prepositions such as ‘I wear casual clothes in the party’ and missed out main verbs in a few of his sentences.

Samira Zare

Samiragave very good answers throughout and could use sequencers and adverbs appropriately. She was very descriptive in some of her answers and used adequate vocabulary. Also, she could competently use a range of grammatical structures like future time clauses. She made the odd error here and there with negative forms such as ‘I try to don’t eat fatty food’ and could try to vary her modal verbs a little more.

Elnaz Dalir

Elnaz used an array of words like ‘cut down’ and could support her ideas with appropriate examples. She used adverbs of frequency correctly and demonstrated excellent listening and comprehension skills. There were very few mistakes with her present simple structures, but should try to vary her frequency adverbs as she tended to use ‘sometimes’. Also, she mispronounced a couple of words like ‘backgammon’.

Vahhab Cheraghpoor

Vahhab could speak in both the present and past simple tense well. He had good listening skills and did not struggle to answer any of his questions. He used correct verb patterns like ‘they want to stay in shape’, but could do with expanding his answers even further as most of them were quite short. Also, he should try to use sequencers and ought to work on his speaking skills further as he spoke a little slow at times and mispronounced some words such as ‘toilet’.

   Samira Liaghat Far

Samira was a steady speaker and used suitable vocabulary for each of her questions. She had very good listening skills and gave detailed answers throughout. She made a couple of errors with prepositions and missed out ‘to’ after certain verbs such as ‘I prefer visit the buildings’. Finally, she would benefit from using a wider range of grammatical structures like conditionals or future time clauses.

Soodabeh Gholami

Soodabeh gave a very detailed introduction and this was followed by in-depth replies to each of her questions. She spoke clearly and at a good pace and her verb patterns were on point. Also, she used a range of fitting vocabulary like ‘I want to cut down on…’. Having said this, there was the odd mistake with adverbs of frequency and verb tense because she said, ‘usually I walking on the treadmill every day’. So she should be careful of this.
